The unstoppable empire that is Bertus Basson opened a new restaurant, Eike, in the heart of historic Stellenbosch town last week.
The cosy, pretty dining room offers an intimate atmosphere. The menu is a celebration of what’s good right now seasonally in South African ingredients while drawing on nostalgia, all re-interpreted by Bertus’ outlook on evolving himself and his food.
As always, Bertus is the embodiment of proudly South African and a constant beacon of inspiration.

It is such a privilege being part of ‘Team Bertus’. We created some beautiful videos that really express Bertus’ motivation for this restaurant and the others, and it shows a lot of who he is as a person, businessman and culinary adventurer.
I am so happy to be part of this creative project that keeps evolving. I’m also happy to say that my personal dream of eventually seeing my photos move has come true and is really playful in this series.
