Macro culinary photography

Posted In: Creativity | Photography

These images were created very early on in my photographic explorations and this collection remains one of my most treasured.  I dined at Haute Cabriere one evening when Chef Ryan Shell was heading up the kitchen team. The images were lit mostly by candles and I used x4 and x 10 magnifying lenses to capture the magnificent subterranean world of light and lens glass.

I love love love your stuff … best food photography I have seen… have to admit to being a devoted lensbaby slave. I sent a link to your criticism article (and whole web page) to inspire my foodie daughter… she has a passion to teach everyday busy Mums how to cook from scratch and add simple touches to put a pretty meal on the table … expressed on her Cooking 101 Facebook page. Thank you for being willing to be vulnerable, you made my day. Carol from sunny West Australia on a lazy Boxing Day.

Thank you so much for your beautiful message and kind words Carol and I am so happy you find joy here. I appreciate you sharing my work with your daughter and I hope I can bring inspiration to her indeed. I just love the blur the lensbaby offers and plan to spend much more time with these gorgeous lenses this year. Wishing you a year full of creative fire and fulfillment Carol! Much love x
