One of the best places I ever worked was at The Tasting Room at Le Quartier Francais, Franschhoek. The legendary Dutch-born chef Margot Janse was the executive chef and my Head chef was Chris Erasmus.
This might have been the best team I ever worked with. They were a powerhouse of passionate, pirate chefs and there was never-ending evolution in the cuisine we painstakingly prepared and presented.
Margot recently celebrated 21 years of service at Le Quartier Francais and promptly decided it was time for a change in her life.
Upon hearing that The Tasting Room would be rebranded, the previous staff members decided to have one last supper to remember our unforgettable experiences with Margot.
