Cedarberg mountain road trip
If you love road-tripping and being out in Nature, far away from buildings and noise, then you will enjoy a trip to the Cedarberg.
We went on assignment to Thi Art Coffee in Maskam and we decided to arrive early to spend some quiet time at Jamaka organic orange and mango farm.
All one can see is mountains, fynbos, open skies and open roads. We were also lucky enough to hear the cry of the rare Cape Mountain Leopard.
At Jamaka, we rented one of their 2 bedroomed self-catering farm cottages for R350 for the night.
The sunset over the farm and mountains is a thick coral hue and the only sounds are rustling in the orange groves, bleeting of sheep and the distant chatter of the handful of farm workers.
We left before sunrise to make it to our destination in time and watch the colour transformation of the rural Cedarberg area as the sun burnt through the icy morning mist and washed the valley in bright contrasts.
This is a blissful journey if you are like me and adore Nature, simplicity, wide open spaces, the dance of the moving sun and miles of road ahead of you.
